If you have been out of learning for some time, you may find that your reading, writing or maths skills are getting a bit rusty.
|
If you don’t do a lot of writing or calculations on a regular basis you might:
- feel unsure if you have to write a letter or fill in forms at work
- like to be more confident when working out loans or household bills
- feel that a lack of qualifications is preventing you from applying for jobs you would like to do
The good news is that there are a range of free classes available especially for adults to help you get started.
EGSA can give you details of different types of classes throughout Northern Ireland. In some classes you can brush up English skills and learn basic computer skills at the same time. Or you may want to improve your own English and maths skills to help your children or grandchildren with school work.
Classes take place in a variety of venues including Further Education Colleges, Open Learning Centres, Community Centres and libraries.
EGSA advisers can:
- help you find out what type of class and venue will suit you best
- contact the course tutor for you to make the arrangements for you to start a class
- keep in touch to check if everything has worked out as expected
- provide support and advice at any stage
Essential Skills classes can be the first step to help you move on to other qualifications, to help you in your search for a new job, to help you move on within your current job or simply to help you find out more about subjects that interest you.
To find out more about these classes you can call us, we can call you or you can ask us online.
